McCarthy ousted as U.S. House speaker; area Republican representatives oppose move

WASHINGTON - U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was voted out of the job Tuesday in an extraordinary showdown, a first in U.S. history, though Republicans representing the tri-state area joined most of their party in opposition to the move.
